Editorial

Editorial policy

Standards for accuracy, sources, corrections, conflicts of interest, and the use of AI assistance when publishing this site.

Factual accuracy

Provider-specific and technical claims must match the evidence hierarchy on the methodology page. If we cannot point to a source or a test, we do not state the claim as fact.

Primary-source preference

Official documentation, published standards, and files we inspected outrank secondary round-ups. Provider-specific factual claims are based primarily on first-party documentation and are rechecked when providers announce relevant provenance changes. There is no promised calendar cadence. Blog posts and social threads can be cited as claims, not as verification.

Corrections

Material errors will be corrected in place with a last-updated date. If a correction changes a provider status, the last-verified date will also change. Write to contact@aiwatermarkcenter.com to request a review.

Update dates

Dates are editorial, not deployment timestamps. Publishing a new build of the website does not count as re-verifying a finding.

Conflicts of interest

AI Watermark Center is not affiliated with the AI providers it researches. If a paid relationship, sponsored tool placement, or advertising product could affect coverage, that relationship will be disclosed on the relevant page. Phase 1 has no advertising and no paid provider relationships.

AI-assisted publishing

Drafting may use AI writing tools. That assistance does not replace source checks. Generated wording is not a source.

Research samples and datasets

Original empirical studies require owned or permissioned samples. Studies are not fabricated. Raw outputs stay private unless a sample is explicitly approved for publication. Dataset corrections bump the version, the study page, and an editorial changelog. Provider verification recorded by an editor is labelled provider-verified, not independent detection by this site.

Human review for provider-specific facts

Pages that assign a watermark, provenance, or removal status to a named provider require human review against the cited sources or tests before publication.

Research versus commercial content

Research notes, methodology, and guides are editorial. Future Pro tools, APIs, or ads will be visually and semantically separated from research findings. Ads will not be labelled as analysis results.
